Barbara was a tough and strong woman! She was kind and always ready to help others. Like the Ever Ready Bunny, she would bounce up whenever she saw a need and help others. She fought long and hard in her battle with cancer. She is now in heaven but at least she is not in pain anymore. I will miss her smile, her kindness, her making me take out mistakes in crochet (but she did teach how to crochet!) and having her ice cold hands in mine during prayers at St. Mark’s Church. She wanted to live to be 100, but she will live on as long as we remember her! Every stitch I make in crochet, every time I help someone or pitch in to make things go smoother - it is in her memory What will you do to remember Barbara?

My most prominent memory of Mrs. Burgess was getting my ears pierced with ice cubes and a needle, I'm sure my ear was not frozen, but my sister Susan and I came out with beautifully pierced ears. We spent many days playing at her house with Cathy. Rest in peace, you were a wonderful mother and neighbor.

My memories of "Mom" Burgess go back to 1973 when I was introduced to the family by my boyfriend/now husband Tony. We were just 17 and 19. She made me feel right at home as did the rest of the Burgess family. She made our beautiful wedding cake and we were blessed to have both Bob and Denise in our wedding party. I will never forget this lovely lady. My deepest sympathies to all of the Burgess family.
