Some fond memories of Paul was from when we were kids I was 4 and he was 8. we'd make up our own TV shows and play the ones that would "air" on their certain nights. Robert and the Police on Monday night (which was comprised of Paul being the bad guy and me being Robert, the police and chasing him by swimming underwater across the living room rug.) It was very entertaining. We also had Sleepy Sam, Grandpa Shaving. They were sort of repetitious and short on plot but it was a fun season. I also remember our going to the ocean, to the beach when I was 8 and he was 12. Our father kept stopping at beaches and wanting to move on along the coast because the water was too cold to go swimming in. We needed to find a beach where it was warmer. Don't think too much about the logic of that. But we got to Wingaersheek about mid afternoon and Paul and I were sent to run down to check the water temperature. We were desperate to just stop and actually be at a beach. The water was like ice cubes, but we agreed and ran back and told my dad it was just great so we unloaded the car. Between the frigid water and the horse flies and the sunburns, we had quite a day at that beach! Paul and I would have weekly calls and sometimes would bring up those stories from another time. Though his years with stroke recovery were challenging ones, he was grateful for the good and had a long term memory like a steel trap about people and events of Burlington, seeming to recall every person's name from his graduating class of 1970. Once of the great joys of his later years was when his PCA and good friend, Melissa made it possible for him to attend his high school reunion. His welcome by old friends and acquaintances was a most memorable and happy night.

Thanks, Mike. He definitely is with God now. I included the part in his obituary about the neighborhood sports games as those were such fun years for him and I know you were part of some of those games as well. Thanks for your post about him. Blessings.
