Reenie was my big sister. Due to the age gap I never actually lived with her in my parent’s home, but my first 6 years were mostly spent with her at her trailer in Peabody.
I am lucky to have so many memories of Reenie when I was growing up.
When they started to build I95 in Peabody, Mass she took me & her son Mark for a walk on the highway! It was the coolest thing, and then we did a few laps on a snowmobile up & down the highway as obviously it wasn’t built yet. She kept reminding us how lucky we were to do that and she was right – we were lucky to do it lucky because of her.
She brought me to my first Red Sox game, and my first Bruins Game and I will never, ever forget how she would yell and jump up & down whenever she was watching the “Big Bad Bruins” (she also went this crazy whenever she saw Tom Jones on TV)
To this day I absolutely love the Red Sox & Bruins and Pats.
She took me on my first (and many) camping trips. I can close my eyes and still smell the amazing breakfasts & dinners she would make us on the fire. I remember when she first got snowmobiles and would take us & our sleds up the mountain with the snowmobile and we would sled down!
It was completely crazy and dangerous and would never be allowed today, but oh how it was the best time ever! I can still her laughing. So much fun!
Franconia New Hampshire has and will always be a magical, special place in my heart & my memories because of Reenie.
She taught me how to jump off my parent’s roof into the swimming pool and not get hurt! Hahaha, she was fun for sure
Reenie didn’t have the easiest life as she lost the love of her life not long after they were married. However, her amazing spirit and will to make a better life for her & her son saw her go to University and become a Nurse! Such a proud moment.
When Mark & Tina blessed her with her grandchildren she was so happy we all thought she would burst! I know you all know this, but you all truly were the brightest light in your mom, mother-in-law & Nana’s life – she was so proud of all of you and truly her eyes would light up whenever she spoke of you.
I will forever miss hearing her call me her “baby sistah” as only she could in her full-on Boston accent.
Rest in Love Reenie and I know you are reunited with Rusty, Mah & Dad and oh so many more.
God Bless Mark, Tina, Lauren & Marky, and all who knew & loved her.
