Obituary of Maureen Margaret Mountain

Maureen Margaret Mountain (Gallant), Age 77, of Quincy, formerly of Melbourne, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 11, 2023. 

She was the loving mother of Mark and his wife Tina Mountain of Quincy, cherished Nana of Lauren Mountain, Richmond, KY, and Mark Mountain of Quincy, MA, beloved sister of Kevin Gallant and his wife Jeanne of Burlington, Ricky Gallant and his wife Sue of Hampstead, NH, Kerri Grenier and husband Joseph of Beverly, MA, and Jeaneen McLeod and husband Al of New Zealand.  Maureen was also Auntie Reenie to her loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased many years by husband Harold “Rusty” Mountain and her parents Walter & Mary “Maureen” Gallant formerly of Burlington, MA. 

Maureen worked as an LPN for many years. She spent her time working at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and with the Visiting Nurses Association of Boston. She had a caring spirit that was evident in all she did. When not at work, she surrounded herself with family and friends. 

Maureen spent her retirement years in Melbourne, Florida where she has made many cherished friends in the Tropical Haven community. She truly lived her best life during her years in sunny Florida. 

Her family and friends will remember her as the life of the party. She will always be known for her smile, infectious laugh, and love of adventure. 

A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington on Friday, January 20th, from 11am to 12pm, followed immediately by a memorial service. Services at noon. Services will conclude with a burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery at 52 Bedford St Burlington, MA following the funeral service. 

All are invited to attend to remember and honor Maureen’s life.
