Grammy Jean, Although we did not know each other for very long before you left this earth, we quickly developed a strong bond and so many memories that I will never forget. One of the many things that we always seemed to bond over was conversations about medical topics, particularly about dermatology, genetics, and other topics associated with my rare medical condition. Although my condition is rare and fairly new and you had already retired from your job as a nurse, you were always so fascinated by what I shared. You frequently showed a great amount of interest in how the condition affects me through the insightful questions that you asked and was always there to offer a listening ear and advice for treatment based on your medical experience from being a nurse. It’s extremely rare that I’m able to find someone unaffected by the condition who is so genuinely interested to learn more about it even in the medical profession since it’s so uncommon, so your interest in everything that I shared with you meant everything to me. Your strength and perseverance were so incredibly admirable up until the end of your life and thinking about you is sure to keep me going, even in my toughest days. You left such a lasting impact on everyone who knew you and I know that you are looking down on us all from Heaven with an enormous amount of love and protecting us all from all of the challenges that the we are faced with, especially as we cope with life without you. I love you.
