Obituary of Douglas Kelley
Douglas J. Kelley, passed away at his home with his daughters by his side, on Sunday, January 19, 2014. The beloved husband of the late Anne (Kief) he was 82 years old.
Doug was born in Lexington. He was raised and educated in Cambridge. He was the son of the late Joseph Kelley and Laura Parris. Doug had a successful career working as an Engineer for Raytheon for over 25 years. While working full-time Doug went to Northeastern University in the evenings obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree. Doug lived in Lexington until 1967 and then move to Burlington. For the past six years Doug had lived with his daughter Dana in Billerica. Doug enjoyed golfing and fishing with his daughters when they were children. Doug was a collector of stamps and coins. He had taken a number of trips and had visited destinations such as Aruba and Mexico. Doug was very much a part of his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives and was affectionately called “Danka” by them. He was blessed to hold his newest great grandchild at Christmas. Doug will be remembered as a humble man who worked hard to provide for his family and was devoted to his wife and two daughters and their families.
Doug was the beloved husband of the late Anne (Kief). He was the loving father of Debbie Lundgren & her late husband David of Billerica and Dana Ambrose & her husband James of Billerica. Brother of Donna Johnson of Cambridge and the late Jessie Loder, Marjorie Ljundgren and Robert, Kenneth and James W. Parris. Proud grandfather of Kerri D’Antuono & her husband Paul, David Lundgren, Jr. & his wife Aubrey, Jamee Canadas & her husband Anthony, James Ambrose III & his wife Cheri, Jennifer Iannuzzi & her husband Alex, Jaclyn Santullo & her husband Michael and Douglas Ambrose & his wife Jacqui. Great Grandfather of Nicholas, Jonathan, Matthew, Michael, Devin, Haylee, Derek, Aidan, A.J., Alessandra, Alivia, Enzo, Brooke, Stella,Zachary and Dylan.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128/95 Woburn Side) on Friday, Jan. 24 from 5-8 p.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Doug’s name may be made to Michael J.
