Obituary of Kevin Sullivan
Kevin D. Sullivan, 31, of Burlington passed away on September 12, 2014 as the result of a tragic accident. He was an extraordinary person.
Kevin was raised in Burlington. Countless memories were made at the 'Sullivan Compound' playing outside with his cousins and friends and getting ice cream at Nana and Grampa's. Summers were spent at the family cottage in Gloucester boating in the Annisquam River, and exploring the mud flats.
Kevin was a 2001 graduate of Burlington High School. Throughout his years in the Burlington School system, Kevin was known for his kind personality and wicked sense of humor. He was selected for the Sportsmanship Award at his senior football banquet and voted 'friendliest' in his high school yearbook. This recognition is indicative of the fine young man he had already become. He later became involved in the Big Brother Association.
Kevin had a passion for science and technology and went on to earn an associate's degree in Engineering Science. He was known for his talent at troubleshooting any problem with computers and electronics and was the 'go to guy' for his family and friends. His keen interest in the field led him to his job at Comcast where he worked for 8 years. He achieved the position of 'Comtech 4 Technician' and was held in high regard by his fellow employees. He was known both for his skill in the industry and magnetic personality.
Kevin enjoyed spending time with his large circle of friends. Dynamic video game sessions and television series parties were always 'an event'. Kevin also dazzled his nieces and nephews with his famous magic tricks. He never would reveal his secrets.
Kevin always made the effort to reach out. Those who had the joy of knowing Kevin can attest that he was a shining example of how to be a rock solid friend. He knew the importance of being honest and fair, and had a perpetually positive attitude. The depth of Kevin's character led to his selfless decision to become an organ donor, and is a testament to just how special he truly was. Kevin's family is so proud that he continues to make a difference in the lives of others. We will always love you and miss you, Kev.
The outpouring of love and support given to his family during this difficult time has been deeply appreciated.
Kevin was the beloved son of David and Debra (Davis) of Burlington. Loving brother of Kerrie Ike & her husband Kevin of Waialua, Hawaii, and Katherine of Burlington. Grandson of Robert & Ruth Sullivan of Burlington, Joseph Davis of Berkeley and Jean Davis of Gloucester. Devoted Uncle of Madeline, Emily, Brian & Christian. Special Godfather of Emily. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
