Obituary of Donald McCuish
Donald A. McCuish, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away on Saturday evening, November 15, 2014. The husband of Patricia A. (Martini) McCuish, he was 85 years of age.
Born in Cambridge, the son of the late William A. and Susan J. McCuish. He attended Rindge Technical School, Mt Wachusetts Community College, and Northeastern University. He Served in the US Marine Corps at the end of World War II, Enlisted in the Mass National Guard in 1950. Served on Active duty with the US Army during the Vietnam era and later during the Cold War. He retired in 1989 as a Chief Warrant Officer, W4. He was a full time National Guard Technician. During his employment he held various positions in Administration and Logistics planning and supervision. Donald was the National Secretary of the Yankee Division Veterans Association (YDVA). He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and also a member of American Legion Post 101.
He was married to his wife Patricia for almost 60 years. The Couple lived in the Hammond Square section of Woburn where they raised their six children; Leslie Toulopoulos and her husband Nicholas, of Woburn, Kenneth and his wife Mary, of Billerica, Celeste Cruse of East Falmouth, Neal and his wife Kristine, of Woburn, Michelle Schneider and her husband David of Elliot, Maine, and Allison Brabant and her husband Robert, of Wilmington. There are 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Visiting hours Monday, November 17th from 4-8 p.m. Memorials’ in Donald’s name may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, Development Office, 9th Floor, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
