Obituary of Louise Maigatter

Louise Maigatter, a woman devoted to her family and friends, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 after an extended battle with cancer. She was 73 years old. Louise was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Alaimo. She grew up in Needham in a home steep in Italian values and traditions. She was a 1959 graduate of Needham High School. She married her husband Allan on August 7, 1960. They settled in Burlington in 1963 to raise their 5 children. Louise embraced life and made her family the center of her universe. Every one of her family members were special in their own way to Louise and she made a point to always to make each one feel appreciated and understood. She was the one who ran the house, cared for and comforted her children, and the glue that created a strong family bond. To make things even better, she was simply a fun person. She was her sons Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, organizing activities and helping the boys earn their merit badges. Louise always did things on a big scale. Large Sunday dinners were the norm. Louise believed that birthdays should be celebrated and she would host birthday parties for her children and grandchildren even when they became adults. She was famous for her 4th of July cookouts, Superbowl parties, Christmas gatherings, and any other event or celebration where she could gather all her family and friends together and enjoy each other’s company. She was a perfect hostess and the matriarch to the Maigatter family. Louise had quite a few interests outside of her home. She loved to shop and find the perfect gift for a family member. She and Allan enjoyed playing cards with her friends Marie & Richie and Pauline and Joe. She enjoyed going to Bingo with her girlfriends and an occasional trip to the Foxwoods Casino. She loved Disney World and visited the park on an annual basis since 1985. She and her husband Allan also loved to travel. They have travelled to most of the states including Hawaii. She made the most of every day and created a strong sense of family which has been passed down to her children and grandchildren. Louise was the loving wife of 54 years to her husband, Allan. She was the loving mother of Michael & his wife Cyndy of Billerica, Charlie & his wife Noreen of Pelham, NH, Mark & his wife Angelika of Nashua, NH, Paul Maigatter & his wife Kerri DeSisto of Nashua and Karyl Doucette & her husband T.
