I wish to express my sincerest condolences to the Emily McGrail Family on her passing at the amazing age of 102 years old. The Lord has truly blest her during her long life. During my many years of missionary work in Ghana. W. Africa, Emily was always a faithful and dedicated co-missionary. Every Christmas and Easter she would send a mission offering to the SVD for my Ministry. I had the occasion of celebrating a quiet home-liturgy (Mass) when she was living on East Street, Lexington. Emily had a lively sense of humor and was always interested in my Ministry in Ghana!!
Emily always came to the Burke Family functions when I returned to Boston on hone leave. My father, Walter J. Burke, Sr., knew Emily when she married her husband Billy McGrail of Clinton. I am requesting my brother, Walter J. Burke, Jr. (Lt.Col USAF rtd) to represent me at Emily's Mass of Resurrection because I am retired at our Divine Word Residence in Bordentown, NJ. May the good Lord and Our Bl.Mother reward Emily for her many years of Faithful and Loyal service to her Catholic Faith.
I also will remember Emily in a special Mas of Thanksgiving at our retirement Residence.
