Obituary of Emily McGrail
Emily Constance McGrail, a retired Auditor, passed away at the age of 102. Emily was born in Dorchester, MA, the daughter of the Helen and George Frazer. She grew up in Hyde Park, MA. She had made Lexington her home since 1962. Emily had worked as a Federal Auditor at the Hanscom Air Force Base in Lexington. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her garden. She always looked forward to vacations in Florida with her sisters. She considered herself a bit of a minimalist and believed in not filling her life and home with clutter. She was not into worldly items that become less trendy and necessary in her daily life. Her healthy and uncomplicated lifestyle was one of the main reasons she was able to reach the age of 102.
She was the loving wife of the late William McGrail, who passed on in 1987. She was the sister of the late Barbara Tiedemann & her husband Henry and Anne Louise Kennedy & her husband Frank. She was the loving aunt of Henry Tiedemann & his wife Margaret “Meg” of Marshfield and Christine Johnson & her husband Eugene of North Hampton, NH. She was the great aunt of Emily Patton & her husband Robert, Rebecca Johnson McDonnell & her husband Mark, and Althea Johnson. Emily was also the great grand aunt of Thomas Henry Patton and Keston Anthony McDonnell.
A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Thursday, April 30 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd, Woburn at 10 a.m. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster, MA.
