Although I never met Polly, I had the pleasure of speaking with her on several occasions to review her auto and home insurances. It would take a while, but we finally got to the reason she called! I was very fortunate to have been the recipient of more than one of her wonderful, meaningful, and clever poems. My sincere sympathy for the loss of this caring and interesting woman.

I am so sorry to read of Polly's death. She was such a cheerful person, who always brightened our day at HBSP. You could count on her for a kind word, a big smile, and--if the occasion merited it--a poem!

To Laurie, Kenny, Beverly, and your families,
I was very sorry to hear about Polly. She was dear to me (and to my parents, Ethel and Bob). Every time I saw her at family events, she gave me a big smile and we chatted together happily about many subjects. I will always remember her and cousin Donald fondly.
Love to you all,
Debbie

I am so sorry for your loss. I met your mom a couple of years ago, I would pick her up and take her to her medical appts. She was such a joy to talk to, she had so many stories and I didn't want the trip to end. She always talked about her family and how much she loves you all. She would tell me about her trips to the cape and church on Saturdays and then out to dinner with Laurie. Your mom was a very special person and I will miss her.
Sincerely
Patti Walsh

Dear Beverly, Ken, Laurie and Families,
We are very sorry to hear about your Mother. We certainly did not expect this very sad news especially after just seeing Polly only about one month ago.
Your Mother was a wonderful human being. She was interesting, very smart, humorous, fun-loving and a joy to be around. Her communication skills were truly remarkable, both written and oral. She had an uncanny ability to be able to speak to many different types of people on such a wide variety of subjects and make each person feel special. More important than all of those wonderful qualities, we know she cared for and loved all of you and your families very much. We know Polly cared for and loved my Dad and Mom and all of my family also.
Beverly, Ken and Laurie, we think you were all very blessed to have such a wonderful, loving Mother. Please try to hold on to all the best and happiest memories of your life with her and your entire family. We are very sorry for your loss.
Our deepest sympathy to Matt and David, and to Paulette, Darrien, Nicholas and Malerie also.
Love,
George and Satoko

MY DEAR FRIEND
Polly, please know that I will remember happy times galore
All of the fun times together that now will be no more
Until we meet again, poems you left will have to be enough
That will be very difficult, but hey, you know we're tough.
Together we cried a lot when at first we met
But it quickly turned to laughter - of that you can bet
I'll miss you Dear Friend until we meet again
With a new set of friends, Footie and Don....until then.
Always, Elaine

It's difficult to put into words how much we will mi ss you, Polly! When we lived for ten years in Wilmington, not a month went by that we weren't spending with you and Don, always discussing and solving all of the problems of the world. We're glad those walls couldn't talk.
We got to know your three children from their early childhood to becoming adults.
It's been a wonderful ride.
Much love, Carl and Jerry

Mama, I love you. To all here, I am just reading these for the first time. The love coming from your hearts is evident. Thank you for loving my Mama, for loving us and thinking of us, and for praying for us at this very sad and transitional time. Mama was the person I spent the most time with here on earth and I miss her terribly. My unselfish side knows that God was calling her. Mama lived for God and for others. I know that He has made a very special place for her in her new happy home with Him.

A great person has left us! But not in our hearts and minds. I first met Polly in 1957 when I was a senior at Harvard and worked on the air at WORL. I worked there until I went in the Army in 1959. It seemed longer because we were all having so much fun we didn't want it to end. I stayed in touch with Polly ever since. I will miss her great poems (especially the ones about her beloved 'Donsy', leaving HBS and our first granddaughter Anna Mae). She had a way with words, for sure. Those fun times having dinner/drinks (she loved those MAH-TEENIES!) with her and Don at Sonsie on Newbury Street. My only regret was I didn't see her more often as I lived my adult life in the Bay area and didn't get back to Boston as often as I'd wished. I've lost a good friend whom I loved. Laurie, Beverly and Kenny have lost their mom.......and Lorna and I send our most sincere condolences the all the family. R.I.P. sweet Polly.
