Obituary of Steven Ross

Steven Jay Ross, an Engineer at Textron Systems in Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly while on returning home from a business trip in Korea on Friday December 11, 2015. The beloved husband of Joan (Mascari) he was 64 years old. Steve was born in North Arlington, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Alger & Joyce Ross. He was raised and education in New Jersey and received his Bachelors Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. Steve served his country in the United States Air Force and was the recipient of the Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon and the Air Force Commendation Medal. Steve and Joan married while he was still in the Air Force. They lived for a short period of time in New Jersey and Arizona before settling in Burlington in 1975 where they would raise their three children. Steve had a successful career as an Engineer at Textron celebrating 35 years of service to Textron this summer. He was a handy man and enjoyed tinkering around his home. There wasn’t any project or repair he couldn’t do. Steve’s faith was an important part of this life and he was a longtime and active member of the Presbyterian Church in Burlington. He was the Treasurer for over 10 years, an Elder in the Church as well as an Usher. Steve will be remembered for his strong work ethic and dedication to his faith and his family. Steve was the beloved husband of of Joan (Mascari). Loving father of Jennifer Samuels & her husband David of Denver, CO, Lindsay Redding & her significant other Johann Gylfason & his son DJ Johannsson of Richlands, NC and Brian & his wife Katie of Rochester, NH. Grandfather of Rowan Samuels, Jake & Aaron Redding and Brayden & Tyler Ross. Brother of Marilyn HU & her hsuband Mike of NJ and Jeffrey Ross & his wife Debbie of NJ. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 5-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Burlington Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private.
