Obituary of Ashleigh Snelson
Ashleigh Lauren Snelson, 25, passed away tragically in an automobile accident on Saturday morning, January 9, 2016. A lifelong resident of Burlington, Ashleigh was a 2008 graduate of Burlington High School. She attended Ellen’s School of Dance for over 15 years and competed on the competition team, often alongside her sister Alyssa.
Ashleigh was a free spirit and joked that she was an “Old Soul,” a child of the 1960’s. An avid fan of Marilyn Monroe, she loved a wide variety of music from Johnny Cash to the hard rock of Jimmy Hendrix and the more contemporary genres. Highly independent with a strong work ethic, she worked throughout high school at LaCascia’s Bakery in Burlington and was currently working as a server at Newtowne Grille in Billerica and at Old Towne Liquors in Burlington. With her warm outgoing personality, sassy style and ability to relate to people of all ages, both jobs were a perfect fit.
She loved visiting Portland Maine, Disney World, and spending warm summer days at the beach and family pool with friends and loved ones. Ashleigh was a special daughter and sister, as well as a loving aunt, niece, and cousin. She will be remembered as a bright, shining star that brought warmth, love, tenderness and a sense of adventure to all the lives she touched in her short, fun filled life.
Ashleigh was the beloved daughter of Laurie (Fucile) and Edward Snelson, Jr. of Burlington. She was the loving sister of Nicole Mudarrie & her husband Nick of Chelmsford and Alyssa Rourk & her husband Jared of Burlington. She was the fun aunt of Calvin & Andrew Mudarrie and Olivia, Addison & Parker Rourk. She was the granddaughter of Edward Snelson & his companion Elizabeth Reilly of Lexington, Bernice & Warren Berglund of Burlington, Claudia Minors of Arlington, and the late John “Honey” Fucile. She was the cherished niece of Donna & Paul Swanfeldt of Burlington, Kevin & Debra Snelson of Burlington, Pam & Rob Watkins of Holliston, Judi & Jim Lambert of N. Andover, Lisa & Dan Capezzuto of IL, formerly of Burlington, Jim & Lisa Fucile of Billerica, Mike Fucile of FL, and Bob Fucile of Teaticket. Ashleigh was also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
